About JALCC

In lieu of the recent disasters in Japan, the Japanese American Lions Club Charities Inc. (JALCC), a part of the New York Japanese American Lions Club, is a nonprofit organization that has set up a special fund designated to Japan relief. The fund will not only provide immediate assistance, but will continue to raise funds to assist the area and people long term.

For the past few weeks, we have been actively collecting donations on the streets of New York in front of Grand Central Station, Times Square and Union Square along with other fundraising events. Over 100 volunteers have helped in our fundraising efforts locally including artists, musicians, children and friends, and many others have all come together with their love, prayers, caring, support and giving for Japan and its people.

There are over 107,000 members of Lions Clubs throughout Japan. The members in and near the affected area know the needs of the people and can respond quickly through the Lions network.

Members of the Lions Clubs throughout Japan and the world have come together to help provide for the immediate needs of the people in the affected areas.

We are very grateful to the many people who have contributed to our Japan Earthquake, Tsunami and Nuclear Crisis Relief Fund. The three events have resulted in disasters of historical magnitude and it will take a great deal of money and many years before things are back to normal. Thank you for your help.
